Lahore, Saturday, October 15, 2022: De’Lesh celebrated Global Handwash Day 2022 at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital Lahore.
Global Handwashing Day is a global advocacy day dedicated to celebrating and advocating for handwashing with soap as an effective, affordable way to prevent diseases. It is an opportunity to design, test, and replicate creative ways to encourage people to wash their hands with soap at critical times. Each year on October 15, communities, advocates, and leaders spread the word about hand hygiene, build handwashing infrastructure, and demonstrate the value of handwashing with soap.
The event was held at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital in Lahore, where a Massive number of Doctors and patients participated enthusiastically. The hands of patients and attendants were washed in the presence of experts and general awareness was provided about hand hygiene. Free samples of lotions and sanitizers were distributed to encourage the general public to wash their hands before eating. The De’Lesh team also designed a very interesting activity. The activity was to take a pledge to wash their hands before eating. This activity was encouraged by the patients and doctors also.
